you guys are playing a dangerous game here. There is a legend that if you make 3 political statements the politics board will appear. Nobody wins in that scenario

Liberalism is a mental illness

One of my favorites is if you look up the definition of liberalism it says they believe in free speech but what it doesn't say is only if you agree with them...

Can't we just all agree that Veganism is a mental illness.

Well, you are in Washington, a good argument could be how liberalism is destroying America...

Washington state just passed a budget that increases my property taxes 15% to cover state supreme court demands that k-12 be fully funded, and now the teacher's unions are demanding that money cover a 20% pay increase for teachers and 30% increase for support staff.

A 20% down payment on a home here I grew up in and wish to live again some day costs $320,000.

Thanks Obama.

I grew up on a farm, and we raised our own beef, pork and mutton. I was once "asked" how could I eat something with a face? My response...."A face? Damn, she had a name! We're having Bessy for dinner tonight!"

The lady was really upset by that response.

I will give her some credit though, she at least knew where it came from. In 2001 I was living in North Carolina, and there was a horrible drought in Eastern Oregon (environmentalists succeeded in convincing Oregon to not allow irrigation water because "dams kill fish"). Lots of farmers lost their farms during that time. Well, as I was telling this guy about the hardships back home (I came from just across the Columbia River from where it was at it's worst) his teenage daughter irately stands up and screams at me "Why can't (farmers) just go to the store and buy their milk like everyone else!" and stormed upstairs. The father was embarrassed - and as a 20 year old farm kid, I was flabbergasted that someone would say something so stupid!

I spent a week in Seattle earlier this month, it is an awesome city. However there was not 1 evening that I left a restaurant I was not hit up for money by someone waiting outside. At some of the nicer ones they hire people full time to keep them away. I left one place and a guy came up asking for money and got chased away by the security guy. The dude hovered around the property and harassed me as I was getting into the cab.

Outside of that and how often the streets smell like shit I liked it. Hotel was on the waterfront and there are a lot of awesome places to eat.

Went to a Starbucks reserve, that is some fantastic coffee. Never had nitro cold brew before then, but I am a fan.

Seattle has a lot to offer. But, yeah - the homeless situation is getting really bad. They put out a call to the homeless across the country 3 or 4 years ago to come to Seattle, because they would be welcomed there - and now there isn't a local news day where there isn't some sort of clash between the city, citizens and the homeless.

There not any pan handlers or homeless people from where you from? This is like completely standard for the bay area. They literally have areas of town where tents and makeshift shelters take up space on the sidewalk where you can't even pass. It's crazy.

The city of tents that are there at night was staggering, it was almost like a mobile city

There are, and when I take the train in to work I get hit up a lot. I have just never been approached so frequently. It was every time I left a restaurant. I had not seen it so bad that restaurants have hired people to prevent patrons from being harassed by it.
