Martin did not fucking tomahawk the ball, neither did the other batter a few games ago.

Matheny is making all of the right moves and the Pirates are just making plays beating the odds. Baseball is more than stats and the Pirates are making plays

I didnt think our window opened to next year when Tailon and Polanco came up in late June.


We got so lucky with our mid/low level free agent signings, methinks my Pirates should try to keep our scouts/devo guys for a while longer

I think the Bucs need to win this one if they're going to win the series. They have to end it today. I don't like our chances in St. Louis in a game five. I do like our chances in front of a raucous crowd in PNC, though, at least a little more.

Morton was locating his curve well in the first. He needs to keep that up, because it's the only way he'll be able to deal with the lefties in St. Louis's lineup.

I'm also not particularly enamored with STL's chances in this game but we'll find out

Wacha's got a good changeup, which bodes well for him against a Pirates lineup which struggles with the change.

It's looking like Ground Chuck is on the bump today. If he's getting ground balls even from the lefties, that's a great sign for the Buccos.
