John, It appears that either the Gorillas have some great hitting or the Totallers have no pitching. Which one is it?

scouty, All I was trying to say is the Pacific Coast League is a run scoring league with very little quality pitching. During Kelly's time in St. Louis this year to back up Tony's boy, who can't hit either, while Molina was on the DL, Kelly looked terrible at the plate attempting to hit MLB pitching. I have no problem with Kelly's defense but he's got a lot of work to do on offense before he can get to the MLB level and stay there. It's not just me saying this, many baseball experts that I read are saying the same thing.
Lordy your a dope...Yadi had his first 100 OPS+ at age 100...he was a very poor hitter till then...

Yadi had a 64 OPS+ in his first 3 seasons (1033 PA). That's bad even by catcher standards. Kelly's been pitcher-esque at the plate, but we're talking about 118 PA. That's only one month's worth of plate appearances.

Lordy, you're dopier than a dope! Are you saying that Yadi is a great hitter now?

Yes...Yadi is hitting almost as well as his best year ever (2012)...and compared to where he was at the beginning of his career (until about age 28) he's doing fantastic! Dude really had 3 really great hitting years, and then fell back towards average, which is still excellent for the package you get with Yadi (which was a way below average hitter). And this year, he's picked it up hitting wise

Sorry if you are too stupid to understand that...

Go back to railing on Kelly because of his 100 scattered MLB appearances sprinkled in over a year and a half, without understanding what is important in catching, especially for the Cardinals these past 20 years...defense, handling pitchers, and throwing out runners. Offense is a bonus.

scouty, I will have no problem admitting that I was wrong about Kelly if and when he ever proves himself at the MLB level. Have a great day!

As we said, he's only had a month's worth of plate appearances (and scattered at that) as a major leaguer. I wouldn't worry too much unless he's still struggling this badly with 500+ plate appearances.

Mark, I know you hated to see the all star break come at a time when the Pirates were on fire. Good luck during the remainder of the season.
They'll return to mediocrity.

Nova needs to pitch a great game today! He has been just as disappointing as some of the young arms on this staff.
Brewers get a much needed win by beating Kershaw led Dodgers.
