PHOENIX -- Chris Young started in left field and went 1-for-4 with a double for Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday and departed after logging six innings in the field.

Terry Collins said pregame that he expected Young to rejoin the Mets on Wednesday in Arizona and accompany the team back to New York. He is eligible to be activated from the disabled list on Friday, when the Mets open a weekend series at Citi Field against the Atlanta Braves.

Young hit .667 with two homers during a three-game rehab assignment, including reaching base in his first nine rehab appearances.
