"The 14th ranked Sooners are undergoing final preparations for their weekend contest at No. 22 Notre Dame, and following practice on Monday and Tuesday, select coaches and players met with the media. Here’s what we learned:
Three players return from injury
Redshirt freshman quarterback Trevor Knight, sophomore defensive end Mike Onuoha and freshman defensive end D.J. Ward have all returned from injury and are back practicing with the team, coach Bob Stoops said on Monday.
Knight will rejoin sophomore Kendal Thompson as a backup for junior quarterback Blake Bell. On Tuesday, co-offensive coordinator Josh Heupel said he is not sure who will serve as the primary backup.
Onuoha and Ward will bring added depth to Oklahoma’s defensive line if needed, but neither is expected to have a main role against the Fighting Irish. "
