Well, the uphill battle gets a bit steeper. As I was wrapping my head around possible routes the Flyers could still take to get to the playoffs this little bomb drops. With all of the back to back games in the Flyers schedule this means that almost certainly we see Stolarz at least once before the season is over.
It may (or may not) change the urgency of the organizational charge to make the playoffs this season. The charge that the team has made proves that Hakstol's system works. With an improved overall lineup and a team on board from day one and a coach with a year under his belt, the need to scramble down the stretch will be greatly reduced.
