I'm just curious on what you guys think is better and why? I have Netflix but just started my Hulu free trial yesterday just to see what it's like.

It depends what you're looking for....Netflix has better movies and original content, while Hulu has a better selection of TV series.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, I'm kind of starting to like Hulu so far.

They are different enough to make it hard to compare. Netflix is its own entity while HULU is more of a cord-cutting option (not quite, but it could be eventually). I use HULU more as an extension to my DVR than as anything else.

This,,

I mean Netflix has some ok things to watch movie wise and series but Hulu is getting up there as well, plus as you mentioned it seems like Hulu is heading towards they way of not having cable anymore. Until recently Netflix has SUCKED with it's content but it seems to be picking it back up again.

It's really too hard at this point to say which service is better however, at least at this point

How does Amazon compare?

Does anyone do Showtime through HULU? It looks like they are selling it as HBOGO, but I am not willing to pay the extra $14 a month just to find out that it isn't...

I had both, but Hulu annoyed me because it wouldn't update its shows frequently enough for me. Every couple of months, I'll get that email for a free trial and I'll add it again just to binge watch the shit I missed that they have complete seasons of now.

Both is the right answer. Like has been said, one isn't better than the other, they're different. If you have cable or satellite with the on demand feature, Hulu seems pretty pointless to me. If you want to go cableless, I recommend Hulu live over sling after a short time with both. If i ever go back to cable I'd dump Hulu.

I've had Netflix for a long time, and wouldn't give it up either way, I basically see it as a premium cable subscription, like HBO. It stands on its own and is worth having whether or not you have cable or Hulu or whatever.

I've had both, as well as Amazon Prime.

Netflix has the larger catalog and is easier to navigate IMO.

With AP, you have the ability rent movies, that you'd otherwise have to wait forever for.

BUT - with Fox/FX, Disney and the like (and ending their contracts with streaming services), moving to create their own formats, Hulu and Netflix are going to lose a substantial amount of content that has been previously made available to them. WE WILL AGAIN be forced to "pick and choose..." and with the chord cutting that's happened in recent years in an effort to cut costs or whatever, we will once again have bloated TV budgets, or lose access content.

Agreed.

Luckily my Samsung TV has not updated the ui yet, so I still have the old one. I have the new one on my PS3 and my iPad, though.

I have Netflix, Hulu, & Prime. I only pay for Netflix & Prime though. I convinced my inlaws to get Hulu and we would share passwords. Pretty sweet deal.

As for the question. Really just depends on what you like. I think Netflix is far superior. No commercials & they have more of the shows that I like. And their original content is superb. Hulu has some good stuff on it, but my wife mainly watches it for her tv shows she likes. Prime has really upped their game lately, but their user interface still leaves a lot to be desired. Not a fan of it, but if you can suffer through the navigation the content is good.

YES...

This was my problem with Hulu. The user interface was terrible. Honestly I preferred Netflix' old UI as well, but it is still tolerable at least.

I only had Hulu to watch Battlestar, but I got tired of having to remember which episode I last watched so I just outright cancelled. Oh well.

Oh yeah, commercials on Hulu as well annoyed the hell out of me.

Before Hulu would let you pay a little more and avoid commercials it was not close. I still prefer Netflix, but I think it is worth having both now.

I guess I should be used to Hulu's UI since Fios on demand went to that about a year ago.. Terrible crap
