Did I mention he remembers when the Mariners were not a franchise?

Big Papi and Roger Clemens are fine examples of clean living. Wish we had more like them in this dirty game which is pro baseball.

I think Clemens was clean in Boston. He got fat and complacent and was let go by an Duquette. I think he started hitting the sauce up in Toronto.

Papi is Papi :noidea:

Everyone does it in Toronto. That is just too easy.

Are people still talking to the New England rube in this thread?

No fahggot, you are not talking to me. You are however trying to impress me with your nonexistent knowledge of baseball. You should stick to trying to having an intelligent conversation about football, you fail less miserably at that.

Tell that to the Ranger fans.

BTW, I know enough about MLB to remember when there was no Mariners franchise.

Likewise... Then start to prov
But he knows enough about MLB to remember when there was no Mariners franchise. Not every MLB afishionado would know that...unless they had a computer or something.

LOL... And I bet that there use to be no Redsox franchise too... Just taking a wild guess...

I happy for Nelly, great game today against us. I knew the Rangers messed up when they didn't make him a reasonable offer last season- he was a steal. Still a little upset about it honestly, he was one of my favorite players.

If you ask me, all of Cruz's power is natural, it's not coming from PEDs. The guy is just naturally strong and has a powerful smooth swing. If you know anything about the context of Cruz's PEDs story, you would know he got a very nasty stomach virus in the Dominican Republic and lost a whole bunch of weight after the 2011 WS. He even had to fly to Florida to see a specialist to get treatment for it because Drs in the DR were having issues treating- He had it about 3 months. In the whole process he lost like 40 lbs and he stuck around in Florida to train some with Mike Napoli- spring training was about a month or two away. I'm sure the biogenesis thing took place somewhere in there. Cruz says he used PEDs to put weight back on and get back into shape. I believe him. Back here in Texas, in February of 2012, it was pretty well known that all this happened way before we even knew about PEDs.

The interesting thing about Cruz, is the year that we can verify that he used PEDs was statistically his worse. The next season, the one in which he was being investigated and under the most scrutiny, he was on his way to his statistically best numbers but he ended up getting suspended, so we never found out. And as you know, the following 2014 season, he mashed it and put up career numbers.

That's enough of that. Move along.

No, seriously. Stop trolling the M's team board.

Also, i'll give you Mariner 101... Cruz was signed for 2 reasons and 2 reasons only... 1) To give the M's a power RIGHT HANDED Bat... 2) To protect Robert Cano in the lineup...

Sadly enough, those who began to follow the Mariners yesterday know more about the M's than you do...

BTW, I've been a diehard M's fan since 1981... Stop with the, "Bandwagon" pathetic rap... You make yourself look sillier each and every time you mention that...

Didn't Cruz make a solid sliding catch today?

A Boston fan who remembers when Seattle didn't have a franchise, so you must remember all those years Boston couldn't sell out that pathetic excuse for a ballpark. Fenway is cool cause its old, outside of that it would be a shitty minor league field.

Nice to see Cruz off to such a great start. I feel Ms FA acquisitions so often bust, but Cruz has really carried this team so far this season. Seager and Cano are starting to heat up as well which is nice (just gotta get the pitching!)

Imagine if this team still had Adam Jones.... :L

Guys, let it go. He won't be responding anyway.

I'm all for active debate and open dialog. Fans from other teams should be welcome to jump in and discuss things. We cannot accept outsiders just flat out trolling and name calling when there isn't anything productive coming from it.

Cruz has had a bigger impact on M's future than M's present. What I mean by that is that he is dispelling all the B.S. about hitters can't hit homers in Safeco in April/May. I have said for years that the talk about homers was incomplete because we truly never signed a real home run hitter to prove or disprove it. Now future hitters will have something to show them that it can be done so no more excuses M's management.

The second part regarding the present is because with all he has done we still are not winning. That is obviously at no fault of his own. He has been huge for us and the only disappointment with him is that he didn't come aboard last year...again probably at no fault of his own.

Well to be fair the Safe was built for power hitting left handed batters and recently had the fences moved in to make it a bit more right hander friendly. An awful lot of the power hitters that struggled were right handers prior to that fence move.

correct on all counts.

safeco has actually, on average, been middle of the pack among parks for home run hitting over the past several seasons. for some reason, it just never registered to the fans using it as an excuse that there were plenty of home runs hit at safeco over the last several years....just mostly by the opposing team. amazing, huh?
