He's expected to reject a 14.1 million dollar 1 year offer from the Rangers. If Amaro thinks he can improve right field by signing this clown he's a fucking moron. This guy is a butcher in the field. He's like Darin Ruf on steroids--probably literally. I know its not my money but Nelson Cruz is not the answer to anything. Ruf can do what he can for 10s of millions of dollars less.

He's 33, is good for 20 HRs, and hits both LHP and RHP. Maybe if he's unwanted, the Phillies could get him for the bench.

I'll be interested to see how this offseason goes - I really don't know what to expect - the new TV deal could change everything

Leave brain-dead alone with that kind of money and he'll find a guy like Cruz and try to sign him to another of those ridiculous contracts!

Cruz will probably get at least 3 years at 15 million per. However,4 yrs at 13 million per is also a consideration. Victorino got 13 million per year,with less power and a lower batting average. But didn't Amaro say that he wants a better defensive outfielder, after all,that is why he won't give the outfield job to Ruf. Cruz is only a slight upgrade defensively. Ruf is a better overall value in my opinion. Plus I would rather spend the money on starting pitching.
