I thought they needed to win both of them.

There are 6 road games to 4 home games remaining. Two of those home games are Wisconsin and Maryland.

What evs. All road games are tough to play in basketball. You know Michigan's pretty beat up right?

From the outside that looked like a winnable game. They lost by 14. NIT looks to be best they can do.

I've been saying all along they'll need to finish in the Top 6 of the Big 10 just to get into the tournament. They'd only do that if they gained some confidence from the Mich St game, and won their winnable road games. Michigan is essentially playing with their bench compared to where they started the season.

i got to watch the 2nd half. the offense just looked pathetic. i also follow the tweets of the local press, one of them said exactly what NU needs, a pure jump shooter. Seemed Michigan was giving up jump shots to keep anyone from driving and NU couldn't hit crap. when Petteway and Shields are a combined 5-23 from the field, you aren't going to win a lot of games.

and Pitchford just hasn't been worth much of anything, i felt he was the key to the big run at the end of the last season because he was hitting shots. 0-3 from 3pt land last night. looking at his stat line, he was 47% from the field last year and this year is down to 38%, just not good enough.

Also, the poor rebounding on defense and giving Michigan second chances was more frustrating than the offense. NU'd cut the lead to 10 and get a defensive stop, but then fail to get the rebound and Mich would convert to extend the lead back to 12.

yea, a tournament shot is slipping. with only 4 home games and 6 road games left, they really need to do something special, like 7-3, but road games at MD, ILL, OSU, MINN, PUR and home games with WISC and MD, I'd think they are lucky to go 5-5.

Not getting the rebounds was frustrating to watch. If it wasn't for that they may have just had a shot at winning.

Yeah Pettaway was cold but it happens. You got to make up for it somewhere and allowing them 3-4 shots every time is not the way to do that.

I didn't get to watch the game but for a sec. 20-27 Michigan. And Petteway yelling & frustrated. I don't give a Fuck if you are MJ don't yell at me on the court. I don't need your approval Petteway I need you to suck it up and act like a leader. Walk quietly and carry a big stick type shit

Shields missed a few big free throws at key moments of the game.

Nobody played good. We just all around looked overwhelmed by the environment, and then the fact that it's Michigan and they can just pull 3 more 5-star players off the bench and plug them in when they feel like it doesn't help.

We always struggle against teams that shoot well from 3.

yea, petteway just didn't look like he wanted to be out there in the 2nd half. some lazy passes and no real drive. The way teams have been taking away the lane from out team, I'd think Miles would have some more tricks up his sleeve for how to get some buckets, but it seemed our only real offense in the 2nd half was fastbreak points.

honestly, it was about half way through the 2nd half and I think the lead had grown to 15 maybe even 20, I just said to myself, why doesn't this team run more and take shots quicker. push temp and see if we can get something started. I mean, there's a point where you have to try and do something different.

He's a prima donna but he's definitely needed to win right now. And he's needed making 3s

With that said, we should win on Saturday and begin our run for the Final 4.

I watched the first half on espnU's replay at midnight. Offence was pathetic. Seemed they couldn't buy a basket. For some reason, the station went down at halftime so I went to sleep. From what I was able to see of the game I was not impressed with the Huskers at this point in the season. This season, so far, has been a big step back from last year.

Last night was just bad though. It looked like everyone was nursing a hang over.
