I find 2 major issues with that article ^^^

#1) You would have to compare the strength of opponents of each of those teams in that chart to understand a little bit better as to why the Offensive statistics look the way they do.

#2) As the writer admits, we are comparing a flawless Nebraska Offense vs. a Michigan State Defense. I'd like to see Nebraska without any turnovers on Saturday.......just don't see it happening.

- The only part of this game that is truly terrifying is William Gholston against Taylor Martinez. Husker fans would do well to remember Gholston's suspension last season for punching Michigan tackle Taylor Lewan, and his twisting of Denard Robinson's neck during a tackle. If Michigan State wanted to win this game, they'd take Martinez out of it. Given Mark Dantonio's willingness to tolerate such cheap shots, I don't put such actions past them.

I normally put all stats up here for quick reference/comparison for myself and anyone else who cares, but just 10 minutes of scanning them on the ncaa site and I'd made up my mind so I didn't put the effort into doing it.

As was said in the article NU just needs to average 4 yds per carry rushing and limit any stupid mistakes.

NU has run the ball well against the decent Rushing Defenses they've played this year. 3 of them to be exact.

Rushing Defenses

Wisconsin 18th, 13th before they played NU (NU ave'd 6 ypc)
Ohio St 20th, 19th before they played NU (NU ave'd 5.9 ypc)
Northwestern 28th, 22nd before they played NU (NU ave'd 5.4 ypc)
Michigan St 7th

Rushing Offenses

Boise St 58th
Central Mich 82nd
Notre Dame 33rd
Eastern Mich 76th
Ohio St 10th
Indiana 71st

Nebraska- like most games this year- needs to not beat themselves- they are pretty good when they don't do that.

I'm predicting a loss, because like I said...................if I predict a win based on stats and "facts" and all that garbage, then I will have a complete meltdown when somehow everything goes wrong on Saturday.

After the Ohio State game I said I was going to change the way I approach these games, because I can't handle the meltdowns anymore. You have to expect the unexpected with a Pelini coached football team. That is something that we all should have figured out by now.

I want to take that element of surprise out of the game completely, and flip it over to the positive side of things. I want to be surprised when we win, instead of being surprised when we play fucking terrible.

I mean, looking at stats, one could honestly make the argument that Nebraska would beat Ohio State and UCLA.....

And that is my point. We didn't beat those teams.........and it wasn't because of Braxton Miller that we lost to Ohio State..........it was because we turned the ball over 4 times, gave up a punt return for a TD, and an interception return for a TD.

Those things........those unexpected things.........those are what cause me to meltdown.
