At what point do we have to do away with East/West conference? all great players end up west

Hopefully soon. In the next 3-5 years I would think. It's getting worse every year

It'll never go away. Too much money in Eastern markets to turn that playoff money away from them. I could see a scenario where top 6 from each conference get in and next 4 get in regardless of conference. That'd be cool.

Great trade for you. Only thing I read was that Porzingas is intent on taking the qualifying offer next year to void his restricted free agency. Big risk, but could pay off for him if he has a great year.

Also you guys will have likely enough cap space for a big free agent. At the very least your cap space is very promising the following year when Barnes and Powell are off the books.
It was a shot worth taking for sure. Cuban will break the bank to win. I could see them going after Boogie this summer, or maybe waiting and going hard for Leonard the following year. Having two of the top ten under 25's in the NBA is a big upgrade from where they sat a year ago. I think getting Hardaway was a nice add as well

Porzingis saying he will sign the qualifying offer is a bit of a concern. With how far above and beyond Cuban goes to make the players happy though you have to believe they can convince him to sign though.

All risk for NY in the offseason for bigtime FA's, but they still have a bunch of assets though. 2 1st rounders, Knox, DSJ, Ntilikina, etc. plus all that cap space.
Yeah, I can remember this same talk out of NY and 24/7 on SC about the Knicks clearing max contracts to bring in LBJ last year...

Hardaway's a decent player, but he's more of a gunner and he's on a pretty size-able contract for what he brings. I think he's really comparable to a guy like Will Barton who's making almost 7M a year less. But that's not the Mavs problem, it was a Knicks problem in overpaying him.

Your future is looking good. Doncic is a stud. I'd take him easily over Ben Simmons today. If Porzingas can regain his previous form you have a really solid foundation.

Yep, not sure what can entice FA's to come to NY. Their future star was traded for cap space bc he was unhappy lol

Yeah Shams reported the QO story. Woj just tweeted saying his sources say nothing has been said by Porzingas and his camp yet about taking the QO.

Two of, if not the two, best reporters have conflicting stories over this. So time will tell really.

I think Dirk will tell him how much he has loved being a Mav, backed up by the fact that he took a lot less money than he could have earned for years to try and bring in help. Getting to play beside Doncic has to be attractive as well..that and the fact that Cuban can and will offer him more than anyone else

I don't think this is about free agents so much. Knox and DSJ are not elite, but you have a lot of potential there. IF they come down with the #1 and get Zion they have a pretty solid core. as long as they don't fuck up FA Knicks could build a very good team in 2-3 years.

That and he gets to be around Luka Doncic's mom all day every day.

She seems like she could be freaky but DP with her son and Porzingis. That is some Alabama fan shit right there LOL. You shouldn't have brought up that combo (DP)...it's nasty, literally

Those were separate posts and different entities. Feels like you're projecting. Want to talk about it?

I liked Carlisle's Nash and Dirk comparison

You know Dallas created $12.9M trade exception with that trade too lol. The rich get richer

The picks they will give up are 2 1st rounders between 2023 and 2025. My guess is by that time they will be a top 3-5 team in the west maybe better..who knows
