Knapp! Walkoff bomb! It’s finally over 4-3 in the 13th. Got my money’s worth. Almost 5 hours of nail biting entertainment. LOL.

I fell asleep after the 7th inning and woke up when it was over. Lucky me! Would have been to tense to follow this game.
I want to award the bullpen members to 3 cheesesteaks each. Knapp also gets 3 cheesesteaks. However, jvett gets
5 cheesesteaks for staying at the game through it all! A true Phillies fan!

I’ll take those steaks! Damn, you missed all the “excitement” (groans of exaspiration as dildoes appeared time and again, going down 3 and out or whenever a runner was on, and generating fear that one of the Nats would finally hit one out in their half of the inning).

What keeps you at the park, assuming you don’t really have to go home, first, is how well the relievers pitched, keeping the crowd confident, but also commiserating and joking with the other fans, e.g., “looks like Valentin will take the mound next inning”, or “why PH Knapp, hitting .214, for Pivetta, might as well let Pivetta try it”. LOL. Then, Knapp does the unthinkable and total euphoria! Aside from the walkoff, seeing Alfaro toss out a runner stealing second with a bullet throw was also a cool highlight. Very satisfying win.

Maybe AZ will return to the Phillies schedule next year. We played them in two series last year.

I think this was a huge statement right at the midpoint of the season. Not only can they be above 500 this late, they beat the favorites 3 out of 4 in their first trip to Philly this season.

Agreed. We did have a slight advantage with Strasberg and Adams on the DL. Will see them again in late August for six and three in Sept. Hopefully, the Phils are playing at least the same level they are now.
