Always good to get out of work early and go to the ballpark. Unfortunately, that was the only good part of the day.

So the first season didn't go as planned. Not a disaster, but not good, either. On to Philadelphia. Let's score some runs in this series, boys!

Nats still not scoring runs, lose the opener last night.

Vamos Ramos! Solo opposite field shot puts the Nats up 1-0.

Another error for Desi. This has to be in his head. Missed a catch on a throw from Ramos after a poor sac bunt attempt. Not the best of throws, but certainly should have been caught.

No harm done on this error, ultimately. Utley smashes a line-drive right at Zim for the 3rd out of the 5th. Still 1-0 Nats.

Danny batting lefty. Danny doubles as a lefty!

Clint Robinson gets a PH rbi-single to drive in Danny. 2-0 Nats.

Nats defense strikes again. This time Espinosa takes away a ground ball from Desmond and deflects it into center to allow the tying run to score. No error given on the play, but it was definitely a mistake. Runners at 2nd and 3rd with 1 out for the Phils in the bottom of the 8th. Score tied 2-2.

Treinen gets out of it with no more damage done. On to the 9th, all tied up.

Nats lose 3-2 in 10 innings. Tough first week.

Nats salvage the series finale, 4-3 in 10. Good start from Scherzer. 1st inning homer by Bryce. Big game from Clint Robinson. Scary save from Storen. Still, though...

Yakety Sax would have been a good soundtrack for yesterday's game against the Red Sox. Jordan Zimmermann had no idea where the ball was going to go from the mound and the Nats defense looked like a little league team. It's a baseball, fellas, not a hot potato! Nats scored 4 runs, but only had 4 hits. Basically a failure on all levels in this game.

Strasburg vs. Masterson tonight. We need you to not be a mental case tonight, Stephen.

Nats lose game two 8-7. Comical stuff. Break through for 6 runs in the 5th. Then give up 3 runs on no hits, 3 errors, 2 hit batters in the 7th. Can't make this stuff up.
