The 47 game win streak, OU only claims 3 NC. The conference didn't allow any team to go to a bowl game back to back years. OU could have easily claimed 2 more and a lot of legitimate polls voted OU #1. We've held to the AP, BCS, Playoff, standard.

1921 iowa way unbeaten and United. Lost out to a California team who had a tie

1922 iowa was unbeaten and untied. Lost out to California again

1960 iowa lost once to a 2 loss Minnesota team who split the natty with 9-0-1 Ole Miss but Iowa beat 7 top 18 teams that year and could have easily won a share out the title

1985 iowa would have likely at least split the natty had they won their bowl game in the infamous "Ronnie Harmon Payoff Bowl" when Iowas all American running back fumbled more times in one game than he had his entire career before that. Harmon had been seen driving around IC in a new car and spending loads of money in the weeks prior . Speculation still remains he was paid off to throw the game

2008 undefeated and beat 12-1 Alabama by 2 touchdowns in the Sugarbowl. Should have been in the championship game that year.

Agreed I would have liked Mizzous chances in that playoff. They obviously just didn't matchup well with OU, but who knows how they would have done against the others. They did beat an 11-0 Kansas team.

Oops I had forgotten that Kansas was 11-0 heading into the bowls.

1915: 8-0, posted 5 shutouts. Closest game was a 20-19 win over Notre Dame.

1921: 7-1, posted 6 shutouts. Lost 7-0 to Notre Dame. Only allowed 10 points all season (7 to Notre Dame, 3 to Iowa St).

Wikipedia has 1980, 81, 82, 83, and 84 listed as unclaimed national titles... 82 and 83 have the strongest argument. In 82, Penn St beat Nebraska 27-24 in the 3rd week of the season while Alabama beat Penn St 42-21 in the 5th week of the season, but Penn St still got the natty. Nebraska played 13 games went 12-1, Penn St played 12 and went 11-1. Penn Sts only loss was to a team that went 8-4. Nebraskas only loss was to Penn St... head to head, I get it, but every other metric favors Nebraska. Better loss, only had 3 games decided by 10 points or few, Penn St had 5. But whatevs....

In 83... well that was the game where TO decided to go for two for the win rather than kick the extra point and take home the title. Nebraska fans don't regret it. TO can do no wrong lol.

I know why he did it.
Always thought he should have kicked it for the tie, and got voted the title.

2007 would have required an 8 team playoff most likely for Missouri to be given a chance. 4 teams would have been OSU v Oklahoma, and LSU v VT. Which in all likelihood would have then resulted in the same championship game of OSU v LSU for the championship. Georgia, USC, Missouri and maybe Kansas would have been the next four in.
LSU did drum VT in Tiger Stadium that year, but who knows. Tyrod Taylor wasn’t starting in the first game. I would have liked the Tigers chances though.

Still looking for the block in the back on the punt return TD.
Still looking for the ball to cross the goalline before it was fumbled.

FSU fans know what I'm talking about.

Ya...I remember that game. That's where you guys put a cheap shot
on Warrick Dunn, out-of-bounds to put us in FG position with the
penalty.

Then you threw a pass to your TE for a long gain and even though
the clock had expired 2 seconds before he was tackled they put
a second back on the clock for you to attempt a FG.

It was a helluva kick. He only shanked it up to Miramar.

Thus FSU remained unbeaten vs Nebraska in bowl games having
won all 4 played between the two teams.

1989 Fiesta Bowl 41-17
1992 Orange Bowl 27-14
1993 Orange Bowl 18-16

Nice spin. But you know who the best team on the field was that night, and it wasn't from the state of Florida.

On the map...it only looks like Tallahassee is in Georgia.

We're very close to the border and many times the final two "ee's"
drift over into the Peach State.
