Oklahoma:

1949 Undefeated Oklahoma out voted by Notre Dame
The beginning of Wilkinson's 30 game win streak by Oklahoma, won it in 1950.

1954 Undefeated Oklahoma out voted by Ohio State
The beginning of Wilkinson's 47 game win streak by Oklahoma, won it in 1955-1956.

1973 Undefeated Oklahoma out voted by an 8-1-1 Notre Dame
The beginning of Switzers 28 game run for Oklahoma, won it in 1974-1975.

1978 Oklahoma beat every team they played but got out voted by an 11-1 Alabama.

WTF was the AP thinking.
In hindsight, it's pretty pathetic.

Disgustingly, Michigan State claims a couple BS title that they “won” as awarded by Jack’s Lansing Quik Lube.

Still looking for the block in the back on the punt return TD.
Still looking for the ball to cross the goalline before it was fumbled.

FSU fans know what I'm talking about.

I'm honestly not sure why the hell ND isn't the 1953 champs, considering every other team had a loss.

1988- Screwed by referees in South Bend, Cleveland Gary didn't fumble that was such bullshit. Miami was the best team in the country that year.

2002- Everyone knows what happened here, a terrible PI call cost them the Natty.

LSU could claim 1908, but Penn was given a title that year as well and was more deserving. Only undefeated team on a list of like 5 that we could claim so the only true deserving we could have.

In 2007-2008 LSU was 12-2 and won the NC. Also 12-2 was OSU but they lost head to head in the NCG. Also 12-2 was Georgia and Missouri. LSU had a non-quality loss to Arkansas. Then Missouri crushed Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl. Both of Missouri's losses were to a top ten team; Oklahoma. I understand that the way things played out LSU had to be crowned. But from a distance and retrospective view Missouri had just as good of season and so did Georgia. That was a year that needed a playoff.

Alabama already claimed all they could and then some, including UCF's 2017 Championship.

2007 would have required an 8 team playoff most likely for Missouri to be given a chance. 4 teams would have been OSU v Oklahoma, and LSU v VT. Which in all likelihood would have then resulted in the same championship game of OSU v LSU for the championship. Georgia, USC, Missouri and maybe Kansas would have been the next four in.

Agreed I would have liked Mizzous chances in that playoff. They obviously just didn't matchup well with OU, but who knows how they would have done against the others. They did beat an 11-0 Kansas team.
