You know that UF could not let Jimbo Fisher be the highest paid HC in the state of Florida. He has been since Urban left.

Don't know about that.

It sure wouldn't bother me if Auburn paid more for a coach(unless we just couldn't get a good one because of money).

Yeah, but you have to consider that Muschamp is 1-0 against Fisher. :suds:

Last season was an improvement certainly, but I don't really get the raise thing after one decent season. If he actually wins something, he will get paid. Until then it seems silly for him to get a raise.

is the raise from the University of Florida or Georgia?

3 in a row this year!
Hey it always helps when UGA has the easiest schedule in the SEC several years in a row. Richt had to prepare for USCe and UF. That's it.

I Just think they jumped the gun giving him a raise for not actually accomplishing anything.

Uf my have been the worst 11-2 team in the history of CFB. It seemed to week after week they skimmed by. Granted , a win is a win. But, they could have easily been 6-7 too

Not sure why you non Florida folks should care what we pay our coach. He is paid to win games and if he does not do that, then maybe he will be at your school and you can decide if he is worth the 3 mill.

That's why we have team boards and I agree. This story is not worthy of the CFB general boards.

No, it wasn't that. It was going 11-2 with a team of Meyer's players, that Meyer could only get a 7-6 record from. Seems to me, the numbers tell who the better coach really is.

There's no possible way that you can believe this.
CUM won a BCS title in his 2nd year at UF and 2 in 3 years.
I do understand that you must back your current coach though.

No he is 1-1 against Jimbo. First year was the 21-7 loss to FSU when FSU only had 95 yds of offense.

Get it right. :yahoo:

God bless America! Wouldn't begrudge (or expect him to turn it down) Muschamp or any coach for building a brand that warrants the people that pay the bills from offering him more money. The way this system works is that at the exact point in time the guys that foot the payroll decide the return is not worth the investment, they will stop paying it and invest in a new CEO. Wouldn't want to live where it was any different.

Can't be as bad as Iowa giving Ferentz a raise every year for nothing.....

It is obviously not for nothing if it occurs even twice. Anyone can slip under the radar/get the benefit of the doubt once even in that high profile of a position. Trust me, the people that matter have weighed the risk, potential benefits and options with Ferentz each of the last several Springs. We all work with a knucklehead that seems to have nine lives. But at this level you don't just skate by without justifiable excuses and the confidence of some very sharp people.
