Another week, another mock simulator attempt. Fanspeak update their chart today...
1. DE Deforest Buckner (Oregon) - QBs were gone. It's him or DT Rankins.
3. OLB Jaylon Smith (Notre Dame) - huge value if he heals up well.
3. WR Pharaoh Cooper (SC) - solid, all around WR that did well vs. SEC CBs.
4. DT Jihad Ward (Illinois) - building depth on the DL
5. C/G Graham Glasgow (Michigan) - starter at G in 2017 and Kelce's back-up
5. QB Jacoby Brissett (NC State) - the best of the bunch after Lynch/Cook
6. OT Joe Dahl (Wash St.) - developmental tackle, maybe moving to G later
7. RB Jonathon Williams (Arkansas) - he'll be gone in the 3rd, but he was here.
7. FB Dan Vitale (Northwestern) - let's not try the LB as a FB experiment, again.
Completely different picks from Fanspeak...
1. OLB Myles Jack (UCLA) - 2nd or 3rd best player in the draft at #8!
3. G Josh Garnett (Stanford) - one of the best guards in the draft, may push Wisnewski at LG immediately.
3. OT Kyle Murphy (Stanford) - back-up Peters for 1-2 years, then step in at LT, next to his college LG.
4. CB Cyrus Jones (Alabama) - compete for slot CB now, take punt returns, and challenge opposite Rowe next year.
5. DT DJ Reader (Clemson) - rotational DT behind Logan.
5. WR Jordan Payton (UCLA) - way better than our last UCLA WR.
6. QB Jeff Driskell (LA Tech) - diamond in the rough, but our QB triumvirate should bring the most out of him.
7. RB Kenyan Drake (Alabama) - never given the change to be an every down back, but is well conditioned for 10-15 touches a game, good blocker on 3rd down."
7. QB Kevin Hogan (Stanford) - developmental QB, he becomes our back-up QB and "player QB coach" in 4 years.
