Also, I liked Larry Walker quite a bit but take a look at his splits. He hit .380 with a .460 OBP at Coors he hit .278 with a .370 OBP everywhere else.
I'm don't hate it and I don't love it. Rose was pretty bad last year overall but showed promise in the second half. There isn't much risk on a one year deal so it's worth a shot since they didn't give up a ton but I don't feel very strongly that he will be that close to what he was again. What it does do is by moving Lopez is opens up more cap space next summer which is good. Although I did like him he's the kind of player you don't appreciate unless you watch him every game. How this turns out really depends on what they do next. I'm for spending the larger money on guards and wings and letting Melo/KP play the 4 and 5 instead of crapping money away on a Dwight Howard/Noah/Gasoline type which is probably what they will do. And not having to watch player after player drive by Jose Calderon anymore is a plus although Rose's defense isn't very good either
