Anyone have it? Is it worth the price hike in your cable? What exactly does it allow you to view? Do you get EVERY game or whatever game of your choice to watch? Or does it just air a couple random games per day?

MLB network isn't like Extra Innings or anything like that where you can subscribe and watch any games you want.

MLB Network gives coverage of a few games per week, but the rest of the programming is like any other sports network, except it all revolves around baseball. Talk shows, panel shows, etc.

Blackout rules apply as well.

So if I wanted to subscribe to a network where I can watch any games (especially teams not on the west coast) I should go with Extra Innings?

Extra Innings allows you to do that, yes.

For Directv Extra Inning, it's like $35/month for 6 months.

Some of the blackout rules are really weird, though. Make sure you check it out before choosing.

whoa $35 extra a month is a bit steep. Also I have Comcast not DirecTV so I might not be able to get it. Thanks for the info though. Sounds like the Network is not worth it.

MLB.tv for $109 for the entire year and it seems I get every game on my computer. Maybe the best choice.

If I could only watch one channel until September (football season) it would be MLB network. I love it. "MLB tonight" is the best, they go soo in depth, show live look-ins. Blows "Baseball Tonight" on ESPN outta the water. Love "Quick Pitch" too with all the highlights.

the unfortunate thing in the NW is we don't get many options for baseball on TV. Either Root sports shows the Mariners or whatever ESPN shows a couple times a week. MLB might have a worse TV contract than the NHL.

I agree with this completely.

MLB Network is awesome. Any true baseball fan enjoys the network tremendously.

I was just letting the OP know that it's not a subscription service that gives access to all games like MLB.TV or Extra Innings.

MLB Network has been great from the get go in my opinion. Like most of the posters have said, Quick Pitch and MLB Tonight are way above and beyond ESPN's coverage.

I would definitely either get the MLB.tv package at $130 for the season (you can choose which broadcast feed that you want) or if you don't mind just listening to the games, try to get Sirius XM, which I don't believe is much more than $12/month. For me, around $200 for the season for the Extra Innings package is a bit steep, especially since they don't always offer every game in HD (at least where I'm at anyways).

Yeah, I think that's a service provider issue. When I had Directv a while back, all the games were in HD and I think they had both home and away feeds. I have Fios now, and while the HD choices seem to grow every year, it's not quite all of them yet. And of course, only one feed.

it's absolutely worth it. I was able to watch the Red Sox on a daily basis in 2012 and 2013, which was pretty awesome. And many other games, of course.

MLB Network's pretty good though.

I can attest to this. Been very happy with MLB.TV. The price is reasonable considering I can't realistically watch every game, or anywhere close, with my schedule. I'm happy with it.

that's the problem, with my schedule its super hard to catch every game. Lucky to be able to watch a game during the week and maybe get to watch them on the weekends. Mostly scoreboard gamecast watching.
