Excellent hire

Shocking. But outstanding. People mocking this hire know nothing of Riley and the work he did in beiberland. The Nebraska faithful may not understand this, but they will, soon.

huskers are my 2nd team, and I'm very happy with this hire.

Gratis Mike! You deserve it. :suds:

Shocked. Always thought Riley would retire at Oregon St.

Me too that I thought if anyone was a lifer it was Riley at OSU he is going to be extremely hard to replace.

Let's not forget Mike Riley once turned down a job offer from Alabama, the team he played for.

To be fair Alabama was a dumpster fire at the time and 100% setup for someone to fail and Shula did. Best decision Riley ever made.

Total anti Pelini move. Can't get any farther away from that type of coach.

I have always had major respect for Riley as a coach and human being. Can't think of a guy I'd be more at ease right away entrusting with my kid.

Only thing that made me scratch my head is his age. At 61 is he going to be around long enough to really have a chance to rebuild?

It'll make it look more like a retirement decison when they ask him to leave five years from now

It's not a reload when you are moving away from a guy like Pelini. You are turning the truck around and trying to do so fast.

I am happy that MR get's his chance with talent now...upgrade in pay as well.

Braska done good...their fans will learn soon enough.

Yeah MR could coach easily for another ten years...healthy 61 yr old for sure.

Personally, I like the hire. It was way out of left field, but I like it. And I agree, he seems like the anti-Bo, which I'm sure was a measured move by Eichorst. Develops players, teaches fundamentals, develops QBs, respected amongst his peers, media savvy. Yup, things we didn't get with Bo.

One Nebraska fan in this entire thread.
Are they down in their room trying to agree on if this was a good hire and come out all unified or something???

Brasky and Irule are the only on early on board. Others losing their minds.

I hear he drinks unicorn blood so he has at least 30 more years in him.
