Will there be any reaction by fans for Brown? Do they boo him or act like he never even coached the Lakers?

I say there will be little to no reaction whatsoever.

I agree. I doubt there's much of reaction from the crowd. He didn't seem to generate that same vitriol from some Lakers fans that D'Antoni does.

What the hell had Shaw proven up till then?

He was a long time assistant under Phil. I'm sure if Dr. Buss thought Shaw was Head Coaching material, he would have told short buss and Jeannie to give him the nod once Phil stepped aside.

There's a reason why he wasn't offered the job.

He wasn't offered a job because Jim Buss wanted to remove all things Phil Jackson related from the Lakers. This had nothing to do with his potential head coaching ability.

I'd put good money on him getting another championship as head coach within the next 10 years. Hopefully as a Laker again.

That might be, but considering how the Phil Jackson team of coaches lost that year in the playoffs, a change of direction was justified in the managment's mind to atleast try to get the team winning again. Had the Lakers atleast made it to the finals and been tough to beat, win or lose Shaw would have been almost a guarantee, but unproven and part of a coaching staff that got beat so easily - he was easily swept out the door

Not saying you're wrong, cause I did read the same but that makes zero sense.

Strange that LA and other teams were turned off by Shaw just because he worked with one of the best NBA coaches ever.
