At least they aren't completely mentally unstable. I still question if the people making the major design decisions for the first announcement still have jobs, though. If they do, they shouldn't.

Excellent news.

It's too late to nab a lot of casual gamers though....still SOOOO many people out there who think that it has to be online every 24 hours to function, and that it won't allow buying and selling used games, despite the announcement they made to the contrary a couple months back.

I'm betting a few months from now, people will still be saying they're not getting an XB1 because it has to have the Kinect on at all times.

That's on them. They put the perception out there in their biggest press conference on the subject. It will take a lot of work to undo that.

Its going to be really difficult to sit out this Xmas season on the next gen systems but there are way too many reasons to sit back and see which product actually delivers on its promises.

Sony has petty much always delivered on what they promised, console-wise. The only blemish I could think of would be removing the other-OS option from the ps3, especially since it got them hacked. But in the scheme of things, they're pretty damn good at delivering.

Im worried about the profitability of the PS4. It took them 5 years to make money on the PS3...it shouldn't take that long with the PS4 but since they are allowing used games, I suspect that most developers are going to be taking their talents to the Cloud

I'm ordering 1 of each system, and they'll arrive on release day.

I'll be deciding between now and early December which one of the two consoles I'll be ebaying.

Thats not a terrible plan. Id ebay them both after what happened with the first gen 360s.

 So dumb they couldn't see the outrage their moves would cause, but at least they're trying to salvage their product.

ps3 had memory issues to start.. xbox had countersink issues when it started.. ill wait a year for them to work ou tthe bugs of the systems and the initial price drop before buying either.. they will continue to support games for the 3 and 360 for at least two years..

The first run of systems usually have some issues. Even my Ps2 eventually had some sort of laser read problem that I heard happened with a couple of my friends and I ended up buying a slim Ps2 later on in its life cycle. Granted I played my Ps2 more than any other system Ive ever owned so maybe that just comes with the territory of being a gamer. But after the first run of 360 systems....never again. I don't think Microsoft realizes how negative the legacy of the Red Ring of Death is but to compound it with their E3....well, Id be stunned if Sony doesn't jump out to a huge lead in the console wars in the first year.

But I'm not really a graphics whore. Im currently playing Dungeon Siege 2 and Magic the Gather 2014 on Steam.
