Actually, the strength of Illinois is their offense. It's just that the Spartans defense is very good.

In 2011, the Spartans D finished the season ranked #6 in the nation.....last year, the Spartans D finished the season ranked #4 in the nation.....and this season, it's pretty much a consensus that the Spartans D is even better than last year.
