I also hate his beard. It's too clean and pointy. You can do the clean, cropped beard. You can do the long scruffy "hockey" beard. You cannot do the long, cleanly-cropped beard. That's not rock 'n' roll, son. :nono:

Is Dallas Keuchel broken, now? I hope so. His name bugs me.

What bugs me about his name is that I hate paying attention to anything so sometimes I hear his name on TV and think, "wtf is a pitcher doing getting a pass interference call?"

Probably not......Though I do love the Mets lining up their pitching for this series, which is basically meaningless to them, the Yankees still stuck in their heads....I hope we have 3 Tommy Johns by Monday

From last night:

Ladies and gentlemen, September baseball at its finest. The day after a 16-inning game, Mattingly decided to rest some guys.

Chase Utley starting at 1B (!). Austin Barnes (Dodgers' 3rd catcher hasn't played 2B in over a year and that was in the minors) starting at 2B and hitting leadoff. Alex Guerrero actually starting. Corey Seager batting clean-up behind Justin effing Ruggiano.

The cherry on top would've been to hit Wood 8th and Pederson 9th. Such a glorious opportunity missed.

Looks like a solid line up to me. Wish the results were worse. :heh:

deGrom seems to be just getting tired; he has gone way beyond what he tossed in 2014. He has never thrown this much before and it's starting to wear.

In fact, ALL of the young Mets pitchers seem to be gassed.

Syndergaard is approaching his previous high from Triple A last year. He's only 23.

Harvey we understand, because he's just back from surgery/rehab this season and he's close to what he threw in 2013, before the injury. Even without all the agent kerfuffle, his innings were going to be an issue.

Niese, let's not forget, is only 28 years old (Harvey is 26 and deGrom is 27), and he has only cleared 180 innings twice in his career. He's sitting at 167 but may not even get another start.

Matz hasn't thrown as much due to the lat injury and might be the freshest arm in the rotation, but he's only 24 and has only thrown more than 100 innings once in his short career.

Honestly, I would've loved it if the entire starting lineup only went 4 innings, only to be replaced with a buncha guys with no names on their backs and numbers ranging from 61-98. Wood would only pitch through the 3rd inning, then go to the bullpen for 2 more simulated innings before a round of golf. Game ends in a 6-6 tie. Spring training is my favorite.

Not entirely true, Love...we need to nail down this division thingie, and you guys are the closest thing to a MLB team that we will face in the last three weeks of the season.

You will feel quite silly if the team that lost to a AAAA team defeats your team.

But then again, you ought to be used to feeling silly by now

It's a big series for the Mets. This is the first major league baseball team they've faced since probably Aug 1st. If they lose it, man, I'm going to talk some shit to @yoga≈surfing.
