There was an article that came out yesterday regarding an IV Mayweather received the night before the Pacquaio fight. It would have been a clear doping violation* except that USADA granted a TUE (therapeutic use exemption) to Mayweather on May 20, 2015 (about three weeks after the IV was used). Furthermore, the Nevada State Athletic Commission, which didn't know about the TUE until USADA finally informed NSAC about it on May 21, 2015, states that only NSAC can grant a TUE.
USADA and Mayweather have responded by stating that no rules violation occurred and that USADA knew about the IV prior to Mayweather using it. Mayweather claims that the IV was used for rehydration purposes following the weigh-in.
What say you, Hooplans? Does this make you believe that Mayweather is a drug cheat? Does it even matter in a world where it seems that cheating is prevalent in all sports?
*Intravenous infusions greater than 50 ml per 6 hours are prohibited because it can be used to dilute or mask the use of another substance. Mayweather received an IV of 750 ml the night before the fight.
