Definitely a big test coming up for Sumlin, but I'm not sure that it's "now or never". Of course, unlike SEC-deniers, I think that changing conferences presented a pretty stiff challenge to A&M.

I think if he wants to keep the momentum johnny football built he has to win some big games, have a good record this season.

I think he might get fired if he finished 6th or worse in the West.
They have gotten worse each year he has been at aTm.

But, they could also win the West...and Sumlin win COY.
They are a complete unknown.

I would not be shocked to see them go 1-5 vs Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Miss State.
I also would not be shocked if they went 5-1 versus those teams.

It is really a make or break year....or the CS crowd will be looking for a new head man.

Well most of that has been on the defense although last year you can blame some of it on the offense. The Offensive Line wasn't physical enough when it needed to be and never could gel b/c we were playing new guys each week. Receivers couldn't break away from their man and were dropping balls all the time and some of them were afraid of getting hit like Speedy and Ricky Seals Jones. Running game didn't have an identity either.
