Interesting...Favre in his 6th(5th with pt) season won the SUperbowl! interstingly enough he had a couple more good seasons....the regressed and had 2 sub par seasons...including 1999 he led the league in attempts but only threw 22 TD's to drumroll 23 INT's. Followed by a 20 td 16 int season. Then he stepped it back up and had 4 more good seasons in a row.

Bertuzzi is my boss' kid's coach this year. Pretty nice guy in person, though watching him try to control his language around a group of 14-year-olds on the bench is maybe the funniest thing I've seen in person in years.

Another guy in our office was coached by Dale Hunter and worships the ground the guy walks on. Guess it's perspective. I remember doing some dirty shit to guys I though had made dirty hits on my team-mates back in high school.

That whole exchange made me realize how different hockey players are. When Moore sued Bertuzzi even his own teammates said he should not do that. Any other league if your career ended your rookie year due to a sucker punch like that, nobody would say anything to the guy for suing him.

Except that you were a scrub 4th-liner on a shitty team who didn't belong in the league at all who had slew-kneed and badly injured one of the league's ten best players a couple months earlier. In hockey, when you do something like that (dirty, chicken-shit play) you are supposed to take your medicine the next time you see that team. The fact that Moore ran like he was the love child of Claude Lemieux and Sean Avery is why fellow hockey players had little sympathy. Plus, of course, for those who actually watched the film it was the pile-on after the hit that broke Moore's neck, not Bertuzzi. See Cam Neely against Ulf Samuelsson. In this case, the guy got what he had coming to him.

Agreed that Moore was a 4th liner at best, that is why he was a 27 year old rookie. I completely disagree with you on the bertuzzi cheap shot though. He put his elbow into his spine and drove him into the ice after Moore was already out and could not raise his hands up. Bertuzzi is a world class piece of shit.

Nothing will move me off the position that Bertuzzi was simply sticking up for a team-mate and enforcing Hockey's unwritten rules of conduct, or that Moore had it coming. The dirty little bitch should have turned, taken his black eye and split lip like he had a dick and balls between his legs, and that would have been that.
