"Regular Season W-L Record Comp Att Comp% Pass Yds Pass TD INT Pass Rating Yards/Attempt
Peyton Manning 40-37 1679 2709 62.0% 19,830 132 97 85.6 7.3
Matthew Stafford 35-42 1848 3099 59.6% 21,714 131 85 83.6 7.0

Post Season W-L Record Comp Att Comp% Pass Yds Pass TD INT Pass Rating Yards/Attempt
Peyton Manning 0-2 36 74 48.6% 421 1 0 70.8 5.7
Matthew Stafford 0-2 56 85 65.9% 703 4 3 92.4 8.3

Bonus:
Matthew Stafford has 17 4th Quarter Comebacks/Game-Winning Drives after 79 starts.
Peyton Manning had 14 4th Quarter Comebacks/Game-Winning Drives after 79 starts.

One is a future first ballot hall of famer. The other is regarded by many (including some Lions fans) as “mediocre”, “average”, and “overrated”. Using pro-football reference, I compiled a list of key stats comparing Stafford and Manning after their 79th starts (Stafford has only started 79 games)."

edit taking the quote box off because it makes this annoying to read

Saw this on another site thought it was interesting both were 26 year old when they made their 79th start.

What was Peyton's record against winning teams during that time?

Peyton Manning made a career out of beating up on one of the weakest divisions in sports history for over a decade, then went one and done vs good teams almost every time he made the post season.

Lions had both Suh and Calvin together for 5 years and couldn't win squat. They're literally this generations Butkus and Sayers.

Very interesting context to compare Stafford to Manning over the same time-period in their careers.

Should be fun to watch the haters try to find cracks to pick this apart. They don't do so good with firm numbers like this that don't support their "Stafford is over-rated" platform...

I actually like Stafford, but it is hard to take him serious with a record of 1-23 or whatever it is against teams with a winning record. It is also why many don't put Stafford in the elite category for QBs, even though the numbers he puts up say otherwise.

I have no clue what Manning's numbers were against winning teams, but that is the biggest complaint about Stafford. IMO, he is the best QB we have had in my lifetime, and he is someone who has the potential to be really special.

As far as the Manning comparison -- if Stafford goes for 139 tds and 39 ints, with roughly 110 QB rating and 67% of his passes completed over the next 4 years -- I think that would shut up any doubters.

Yeah, obviously Stafford is the only one on the team that plays against winning teams. Lol

Ok -- what would you like people to say? The Lions are 1-23 with Matthew Stafford as their QB against teams with a winning record. Does that make it any better?

Stafford 3-38 vs winning teams and winless vs winning teams on the road. How are those numbers?

He's the only QB, and QBs live and die with the team record, like it or not.

For a Stafford basher, I am one who defended Matt on that record. Saying there are 45 other players on game day. Stating that I also slammed CJ for the drops against Balmer. Call me a basher or hater. I complain about what irks me with any player on the Lions. That is my right, just as the homers defend every thing Lions.

I do find it funny that fans who say he did not lose alone, will also put up threads or speak about his comeback wins as if he suddenly did those alone.

Some like it both ways I guess...

Going across the HRBBT after driving 12 hours and getting the first sniff of salt in the air.
12 hours for salt, but never 4 for Mackinaw, or Traverse. Fudge, lilacs and cherry blossoms are kinda nice too....

Wifey wants me to take her to Ludinton.:noidea: Of course her favorite part of traveling is when we see the sign that says "You are now leaving Michigan"

Ludington has a nice beach. (And this dingleberry named Dan who's standing right next to me.). Not sure if their KMart is still open. (Watched Gibby hit that WS homer there in '88. No TV in the camper for salmon fishing.)

You got to go north of there for the good stuff. Lelanau en sech.

WTF is a Lelanau?

I watched Gibby hit that homer with my dad. Still one of my favorite baseball moments.
