Interesting. Not a Marquette fan. It's not an issue of minutes not being available, obviously. They go from not a lot of depth to absolutely none of it.

No. It stays literally the exact same.


Dawson didn't play, at all. Now Fischer is eligible and Burton is gone. Practice will be a little weird though.


Everyone knew Dawson was leaving. There were not minutes available this year and he sure as heck wasn't going to get any next year. Burton is the disappoint. Kid is a real talent but can't play defense at all. It was thought Fischer coming in allowing him to go back to the 3 would help big time but I just don't think he fit Wojo's system and since he couldn't play D either it was tough. His mom passed away as well so now he's probably just looking for a fresh start.


Wojo has 3 schollies now though which is huge. Can get himself a JUCO/Grad transfer(maybe both), snag a mid season transfer from another team, and then get another freshman.


7 freshman next year would be risky so I see him only going after 1 more.

Reports are that "Fischer has looked very good in practice, but don't expect him to be some sort of savior" and that "Wojo really likes what he brings"

Fischer should be great in the long run and was really going to help this year just solely off of his presence in paint.

Burton leaving hurts the optimism for this year as Fischer was set to have a big impact on him as well.

The hope was that with the new found zone keeping every game competitive that adding Fischer would add to it and allow MU to compete in BE.

It's ultimately always been about the next two years though. Burton leaving sucks, but with 3 schollies can be fixed quickly. It was evident that Cohen was more of a Wojo player than Burton.

You guys really needed another year out of Vonleh (1st round money is tough to pass up these days) and he needed that extra year, imo. Albeit he had the hernia, he's played 24 minutes all season. Your front court could have been beastly.

He really did need another year. Like you said though, that money is hard to pass up and you can't blame him when he went 4th overall.

I know Louisville struggles from outside, so obviously our gameplay will be to give them that and double team everything in the paint. It'll be interesting to see if we can pull it off.

Outside of missing the 1st semester he can say basically the same thing about Marquette, but I get exactly what you're saying.

Yeah, Marquette's really after falling off the past few years, they where once one of my favourite teams in college basketball.
