Alright hopefully we beat everyone else so hard that it doesnt matter that we cant beat the Angels or Astros
We play a little over 23% of our games against them. Gotta figure out a way to be more competitive. More specifically hit their starting pitching a little.

The writing has pretty much been on the wall for Felix lately, especially after the injuries that plagued him last year. Looking at that season, he was on the DL THREE TIMES, and after that, a spring injury.

His time is just about up, sorry to say. But it's been a hell of a ride this whole time, can't overlook his moments.

I mean its pretty easy to understand. He is a back end starter. He will have ok games and he will have bad games. The command just isn't there day in and day out. Even though he has been keeping us in games rate, the peripherals are still ugly.

A 5.64 FIP to go along with a .256 BABIP and 73% strand rate. Couple that with giving up almost 2 HR/9, his numbers really should be a lot worse and he's already giving you below replacement level numbers.

Diaz has come back to earth. His location sucks so hitters just wait for a meat pitch. He may blow it by guys 9 out of 10 times but that one will get killed because they don't have to chase pitches in the dirt or a mile outside.
Meant to comment on this earlier. If you go back and look at the ABs to Trout and Upton, his pitch sequence is the exact same to both. After he got 2 strikes, he went fastball up and then slider down. You can get away with that against a lot of these bad AL teams but good hitters like Trout and Upton will notice things like that. Even if you have the stuff, you cant be that predictable.

Agreed
The word is out about Diaz and the videos are being watched so he's got to add in some new or other "stuff" to keep them guessing. If not, I think he's in for more and more tough closings. He's still relatively new and not a veteran and can easily get rattled and lose it imo.
