LOL, exactly. Paxton is shitting the bed right now, and Sucre isn't helping behind the plate. Pull both of them and replace with the BP and Zunino.

A throwing error, a passed ball, and a wild pitch. Nothing like giving second life to an All Star pitcher like Hamels. The only positive here is that Hamels is already at 82 pitches after four innings.

Plus, we have shown some life at the plate. One run is within our grasp. Base hit Cano.

Hamels would be an end of the rotation starter in the AL. Career 4.51 ERA against AL competition in 170+ innings.

Both losses in this series were extremely poorly played games. I mean missed a squeeze play, a throwing error, wild pitch, passed ball, leaving guys on base all over. You cant win games like that no matter who you are playing. Hopefully its just a bad series.

Just curious, what is the winning percentage for when Sucre starts vs when Buck started? I really haven't seen a big difference between the two for better or worse. We still need a better backup catcher.

Paxton can't field his position so we lose. Simple. He, like Elias, nibble to damn much for my liking. The one reason I like Price is that he just throws it up there and says hit it if you can. Paxton can be the same way, but he chooses to nibble and try to get guys to chase too often like he did with Howard in the first causing him to make 26-27 pitches.

Every win counts, but if you can't beat the 3rd worst team in the National League, then you can only blame yourself.

13-11 when Buck started, 7-2 when Sucre starts including today's game. Not a huge sample size by any means Sucre had the edge technically.

Regarding Paxton. The last couple of starts he has pitched like a guy who has only had 10 or so career starts and is coming off a three month injury. Im not sure I can reasonably expect him sail through the rest of the year with no bumps. The concerning thing for me is that his change up doesnt seem to be there for him right now. He will need that if he is going to become the pitcher we think he can be.

Good to know. Then the move was a good one despite the fact that Sucre is clueless at the plate. Good defensively though.

I understand his stuff won't be sharp, but the lack of attacking the hitters bothers me. Maybe it is a pitching philosophy of the M's since Elias does so as well. I mean a guy like Young can't attack because he is a deception pitcher, but the other two have the stuff for it. Elias did it against the Tigers (I believe) at home and threw a complete game against them by attacking and not nibbling.

The change up to me would be the hardest pitch to get back. It takes great feel and touch. Still think he has a huge future IF he can stay healthy.
