Starting this a bit late but bleh. Not looking good against a team we should pound.

M's gotta pile up wins against teams they 'should' beat. That final stretch against the A's/Angels is going to be tough. Can't expect to sweep series there.

Yah lol. How do I delete mine? Or do we just have to request a mod to delete one?

Something about being the Mariners fifth starter means your not allowed to throw strikes

It s all good. I just deleted my text and wrote 'delete' since it wouldn't allow me to actually delete the thread.

Well barring a ninth inning miracle I'd say we're 0-1. Here's hoping the great 4/5 of our rotation can get something going (Sorry just not sold on Elias, he gets to the bullpen WAY too early).

He nibbles way too much for my liking instead of attacking the hitters.

Agreed. I mean he gets the outs and keeps a pretty low scoring game, but at the cost of accessing a bullpen too early and creating too many opportunities for an offense.

Exactly. I think he also puts the offense to sleep with all those pitches...theirs and ours.

First clunker of a game this team has had in a while so Ill give them a slight pass. Hitting, Starting pitching, Relief pitching were all bad tonight. Hope that they bounce back tommorrow

I think I counted 4 of his 6 walks were on 3-2 curve balls that missed. He just couldnt locate it and didnt seem to have any faith to try the fastball. Kid has the stuff just needs to learn how to pitch a little, learn what to do when all of his pitches arent there.

He's had a solid rookie year so far, especially under the circumstances of going from unknown coming up from AA to being penciled into the rotation right away almost out of necessity. It's a shame that he hasn't been able to make it further than the sixth inning in a start here since June. I'm looking forward to watching his maturation process as his career continues.

Well boys, the M's play in Philly about every ten years. Last night was the first game I got see them live. It was a little underwhelming for sure. For whatever reason, Elias was just not hitting his spots. The walks really killed the kid. For how poorly the Phils have been doing this year, I was pretty disappointed he didn't attack Ruiz and Howard more. Those 5 walks to those 2 really escalated the pitch count and extended innings.

Oh well, I got two more games to take in. Excited to see Kuma pitch tonight and hoping the bats the show up. Cano and Morales laying eggs with runners on 2nd and 3rd last night killed me to see in person.

P.S. extremely bummed that I missed Felix for this series...

Too bad this was one of your games. Definately a clunker. Classic trap game after a big series win in Det.

Jerome Williams! woof... gross.

A friend of mine who lives in Philly and is a big Phillies fan was extremely disappointed when I told him that Felix would not be pitching in this series.

Wow, that slide by Jackson into 3rd. His foot pulled way back but stays on the base all the way down its side. Impressive.

Kuma's got great location so far. Everything's right at the knees and dropping. Gonna be a fun game if AJ keeps walking the entire line up and Kuma keeps striking em out.
