Trade that pick, Mettenberger is another one of those burgers who don't go down easy. Trade the pick back and get several players. Call Chip Kelly, work out a trade. One player will not solve those problems. A new front office might.

Just looking at the draft order and a dream scenario just came to mind.

Tampa Bay takes Jamies first and the Jags trade Bortles straight up for Mariota.

I know it's not realistic but it sure sounds good! :hope:

 Bucs aren't taking Jamies.

I agree. Mettenberger deserves next season. I love both his ability and attitude and so do other Titans fans. My fear is that Ruston Webster and Whisenhunt both know they have to win next year or sneak out of town so they're more than willing to mortgage the future. If they do that, I hope they can trade back a spot or two and still get Amari Cooper.

If the Titans don't put together a magical draft, they're realistically 5 yrs away from competing for a playoff win, and it's been a decade since we had one. :mad2: Three whole seasons were completely wasted on Munchak. What a total joke!

"What if? Mariota waltzes thru this lil' playoff dance and comes out the other side singin a Natty tune?

Second coming of Steve McNair?

Would the Titans squeeze the trigger then?

Would HammerDown upgrade his mock draft list?

Whole lotta unanswered Qs there.

I think Winston is the better QB prospect. But him being a dumbass makes picking him a giant risk. At least if you pick Mariota, you likely don't have a headache to deal with on consistent basis. That alone would have me taking Mariota over WInston.

Just look at all the recent QB(s) who were known to be jackasses before they were drafted. How many of them turned out to be a good starting QB?

With that being said, the Titans should ride with Mettenberger & trade the pick to the highest bidder.

In my latest NFL mock draft I have Mariota going to Tampa Bay and Leonard Williams to the Titans.

That would be a black hole he would never make it out of. Tennessee is becoming the new Oakland.

Yeah, but look at who Mettenberger had in college. 2 out of the top 4 WRs that came out in the draft, one of the best RBs that came out of the draft and a solid oline. He should've won a Heisman or a championship with those weapons.

Mariota will not be that great in the NFL. He's just like Kaepernick/RG3 and few others, a read first option, flight (or checkdown).

Winston is the better passer and skilled prospect, he's just a headcase.

Regardless, I don't like ANY QBs in this draft. I'd grab one of those ridiculous D-lineman or Cooper.

Bust written all over him. After watching him play against a physical team last night he has a lot of weaknesses. Plus he won't be able to run and take those hits in the NFL.

i would pass on him. Only way I take a chance on him is outside of the top 10 pick.

If he is like Kap I think most teams will take him because that would mean he would at least lead them to a super bowl and some championship games.

Kaep regressed a bit this year although that could be because Harbs mailed it in. So far I don't think a lot of teams would be happy with Kaep's production if he was the #1 overall pick. That 49ers defense was a HUGE reason the team got as far as they did. Same with Seattle and Wilson, but just sayin.

And easy on the thumbs down bro. Just because I compare Mariota to Kaep doesn't mean I don't think Kaep is decent, I just don't think he'll be elite in his career, which is what you're looking for from a #1 overall.

Big difference between Mariota and Kaepernick though. The first guy doesn't have the between the ears issues that the 2nd guy has, which makes me think it's possible he could end up being more like RW than RG3. Winston is a clown as well, wouldn't draft him earlier than day 3.
