Speaking on condition of anonymity, a source told TideFans.com that Alabama and Saban have agreed in principle to terms on a deal. The contract would be for multiple years and would include a raise from his current deal, which pays him around $5.5 million annually. While exact figures were not yet known, the raise was described as “significant” and is all but certain to make Saban the first college football coach earning more than $6 million per year.

Seriously. A rumor from another Longhorn says it will come after a banquet on the 13th or maybe after the bowl game. It’s never done this way after a 4 year run like we have had. It’s usually pretty quick after the last game so there is no confusion to the potential recruits. You have to let them know that change is definitely coming. Right now, no 5 star player in his right mind would want to come to Texas to finish 8-4 every year or on a good year 9-3. Key word there is "5 star." I'm not talking about the bs players that the media builds up for Mack Brown to make everyone think is a great recruiter. I'm talking a real 5 star. I’m actually surprised they are waiting to Tuesday. They should have made him do it after BYU..... I take that back. Actually 4 years earlier.

Cecil Hurt of the Tuscaloosa news hinted at something similar this morning on the radio. He didn't seem overly concerned but Barker was interviewing him and it was mostly softball type stuff.
