80 Man Roster Cuts Tuesday 24 AUG 2021

We have to cut to 81 on Tuesday bt 4PM. Jakob Johnson does not count at 80 so still safe? Note he would count on the 53.
Who you got being cut by Tuesday?

We have too many guards but might IR Karras?
We have too many WR's but might IR Harry?
We have too many RB's but Bolden has ST's vlue? He also has not been playing, nor practicing?

I think this week's cuts will be mercy cuts. We don't want to cut anybody this week that we want on PS?

Cannot put a lot weight on ST. Right now, there three ST only guys in Slater, Bolden and Bethel. The only guy that's been on the field so far as a Safety is Justin Bethel and he's not making great plays.

Last year of his contract. BB won't cut him because he's willing to do anything as well as Captain ST and he's not a serious hit against the cap.

All that is true, but we're not discussing salary cap impact, we're talking value to the roster. If someone else you don't want to lose has long term value then it's worth considering Slater on a bubble.

Slaters football IQ and play on ST is still worth more than someone who is a roster bubble.

Bill Murray, Dee Virgin, Malik Gant, we want on PS. We need to keep them until 53 man cut.
If Gant can learn to cover better, he'd be a quality starter.
I'm sure you know we are not going to cut all 3 of King, Bolden, and Bethel.

The five players released were Malik Gant, Brian Khoury, RJ Prince, Devin Ross, and Marcus Martin.

Gant cant(cover), Khoury was a rental, Ross and Martin did not cut it. RJ Prince might make it to PS if he clears waivers.

We still have Jakob Johnson who's rosterspot does not count as 81.

I just scoured the cuts from other teams and could not find an un-injured player I'm interested in.
