Hopefully they keep Mayhew and Xanders at least for one more season since they know all of the players and where they stand. If they aren't cutting it with the new coach next year then we can let them go if need be, but I think it's important to save them for now to build around the core of players we have...

Addition by subtraction. I agree Mayhew needs to go as well. It was not just Schwartz that had caused problems. I also do not trust him to hire the next coach.

I would also not be unhappy if they just promoted Xanders to the #1 guy.

I am fine with Xanders. Mayhew I have mixed feelings on. But I really like Dominik.

What I liked about Schwartz -

Coaches a mean D line.

Made us a very exciting and competetive team.

I liked the Patriots style of telling the media to fuck off all the time.

What I dis-liked -

Had no answer once Best went down. 16-28 since starting 5-0 in 2011 with him.

Could never get the team over the hump and beat the top teams.

Didn't develop team as a whole, everyone pretty much same player they've been since Lions got them.

Thanks for the memories. Best Lions HC ever (how sad). But the time is for someone else to take this squad to the next level.
