I sort of think the Kings are a slow hockey team, at least right now. Really looked slow against the Rangers & Jets as well.

Not taking anything from the Ning's win last night tho, Kings were winners of 3 in a row going into that game and anytime you beat the Kings you gotta be proud of yourself (ask Yakupov).

On the contrary the reason we are doing so well is that Vinny is not on the team ! Being replaced by Fillipula has made a world of difference in the Lightning. Contenders ! Want proof , look what he has done to the Flyers. Once a force in this league he is washed up.

I loved Vinny right from the start. But Don Cherry said Matt Cooke finished Vinny as a force with that dirty hit eight years ago. I kept hoping Vinny would improve but he has steadily gone downhill ever since. It was sad to see him leave but it was for the good of the team.

I think it's too early to tell, it's a long season but so far I very much like what i'm seeing. GO BOLTS!!!

It's an 82 game season gentlemen.

After about 30 games you'll start to see divisions take shape, and you'll start to see who the real players are in the playoff race.

But I do agree that beating the Kings and my Hawks are always impressive wins.

I think Metro is already taking shape. We already got 1 coach fired, another one on the hot seat, another one that just got hired and is already on the hot seat. There's a winless team that's ahead of 2 other teams in the division. As a Pens fan I'm really embarrassed to be associated with those teams right now.

It's a long season and not a sprint so we'll see what happens around December or so - but Tampa can be a good team if they get solid goaltending - that also requires the defense to be solid too

it's tough to see but vinny should just finish out this year in philly then retire! yes he is only 33 years old but he has been playing in the nhl since 18 years old! you could always see it I hate matt cooke for what he did to vinny!

Wasn't it last year that we started the season like a bat out of hell to only end up as a bottom dweller? Season is long & the Bolts look great, right now anyway. I still have my doubts with our D. The only thing Stevie Y did not address. Netminders are still facing way too many shots per game. Does anyone know off the top of their heads how we are doing on takeaways vs giveaways?
