her voice doesn't translate well to this kind of music and the guys sound a little too weak for it. Both of those bands/songs are edgy. These musicians are not.

I agree with that analysis.

I have developed a distaste for bands who try to become famous by ripping off other bands' music - whether it be covers or mash-ups or direct style mimics. While I applaud the capitalistic nature of it, I loathe the creative aspects of it - or lack thereof.
