I am guessing- and just guessing, itll prob only be 3 years, and if he does not win a title in that time span he will not be looked at favorably.
That was the downside of going to LA if you ask me--- with their history, if you don win it- or even multiple- can you really be considered a "success"?
If LeBron never gets to a Finals there - obviously that would be a pretty major failure. If he never wins one their is it a failure? Its an interesting question. If he says- gets to a WCF and gets to an NBA Finals, but they lose? Would he and or the Lakers fans consider it a "success" or is "success" for the Lakers only measured in titles?
Id say if he can get them to a Finals or two, even if he doesnt win, as long as he leaves them better off then when he found them- itll be a success. If he leaves them drained of assets when he is like 38 years old without at title to show for it, then i think it would have been a failure---- but - on the other hand, for LeBron- it looks at this point that he is not measuring success and failure as winning/losing titles as much as expanding his business empire. If he uses LA to expand his business empire, but never delivers a title, how will this part of his career be looked upon? On the other hand- if he does win a title, does he become the best of all time winning with a 3rd team?
How many players have gotten 3 different teams to the Finals, much less win 3 titles with 3 different teams?
