Boozer was fine. He wasn't the Boozer from his Utah days, but he wasn't terrible. He played hard every game and behaved like a professional on a team that sorely needed to see how professionals behave.

The problem with Metta is that I don't think we can trust that he will behave as professionally as Boozer did.

We don't need an aging player from the past. That is going backwards. If he wants to hang around the Lakers facility and be a teacher, add him to the list of coaches like Nash and make him a coach.

I think they are looking at Peace as a filler to teach the younger kids in a player coach position and to play some minutes if the rookies get into foul trouble which they will. Lets face it - The Lakers will be shock every one if they even make the playoffs, so it's not like the Lakers would get any worse because of it

Agree. Like I said on another thread, if they are going to take a flyer on a player, go after Beasley. Otherwise, bring in a D-leaguer and work on developing him.

From what I've been reading, it looks like the interest is more MWP's than the Lakers. Apparently, his people approached the Lakers and there has been a "casual conversation." From the sound of it, MWP's reps approached the Lakers and the Lakers are being polite.

They are expected to start camp with something like 17-20 players to compete for 15 spots. Unless they tell him "you can come in and compete for a spot, but no guarantees" I don't see it happening. Of course, now that I've said that, we'll probably hear today or tomorrow that they signed him.
