CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Cardinals have acquired John Lackey from the Red Sox.
Joe Kelly and Allen Craig are headed to the Red Sox in an interesting three-player swap. Lackey was sporting a cool 3.60 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and 116/32 K/BB ratio in 137 1/3 innings this season for Boston and gets a nice fantasy boost moving from the American League to the National League, and from Fenway Park to Busch Stadium. He holds a bargain $500,000 option for 2015

Whats weird is that all of the talk in the offseason was moving Adams because of Craig. I think it was always assumed that they'd move a position player (1B or OF) and a starting pitcher...I just dont think people thought it would be Craig and Kelly but if it was a competition then those were the two that lost
