I don't see much difference in the road travled in conference since 'the streak' started. SEC cupcakes are like BIG TWELVE cupcakes and same with the top dogs.

2 different Conf Winners in the BIG TWELVE
4 different ConF Winners in the SEC is the main difference.

Other teams just never got a chance to play for the title in the BIG TWELVE. Tie breaker was used 2 of thsoe 5 years in the south, both going to OU due to poll ranking.

If the BIG TWELVE north was stronger that difference gap would be closer.
