Today is the last day of Ken Hitchcock's coaching career in St. Louis? We'll see. If there is one team that underachieved more in the playoffs than even my Sharks, it is the Blues. Even going back to the Pronger days they continually take a big dump in the postseason.

Man, I could easily see him landing in Edmonton if he is indeed let go by the Blues...

He's definitely gone if they lose this series

Yes the goaltending hasn't been great but he's had ample opportunities with this team - they've gotten worse in the playoffs every year now

Also, Doug Armstrong will take heat too for this

Already saw this rumor making it's rounds on twitter...and I think it'd be perfect for Edmonton. If they do this, I really won't know how to handle the Oilers and their sudden competency.

Buffalo could do far worse than hiring Hitchcock. He's not a playoff coach but he has the reputation for developing young players. Three years under Hitch and then find a tactician.

Hitch tends to be a "players' coach" and kind of lets the locker room take care of itself. Players run the room.

And unless you have an Yzerman in there, that's not always good. It was a "Country Club" here in Columbus, and he took the fall for it. So, he would be great in Edmonton.

Great X and O coach, but the reputation as a motivator is hurting.

Hitch will be gone. He rides his guys pretty hard as far as systems go; it gets old. However, whoever (Armstrong) thought that an Elliott-Allen combo was Cup worthy is suffering from lunacy. Not a chance.

I keep thinking that. A lot of parallels to that era, except they usually had good goaltenders at the time.
