As good as Matt Kemp is, or can be, he is once again headed to the DL. It makes sense, medically, to give him every opportunity to heal, but it's frustrating that he is more often injured than not.

Ted Lilly has been taken off the DL to take Kemp's spot. Why is Ted Lilly still a member of the Dodgers? He and Marmol should be DFA'd today.

Come on, Ned........get busy!

If he had been running hard from third base he wouldn't have had to slide and hurt himself. He was watching the ball that Crawford hit instead of trying to score. I know he probably thought they would throw out Crawford. Suggestion to Kemp. GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS.

This DL stint for Kemp also probably means Ethier does not get traded, which means no Utley and/or Kinsler, which means we still have Juan Uribe in the lineup everyday.

He did draw that walk yesterday though. It seems as though Uribe has come around... I mean compared to where he was, which was bottom of the barrel terrible.

Well Silas, you seem to have Ned's ear, at least with respect to Lilly. Ted was DFA'd today. Lilly put in a good career and I'm a bit sad to see him go, but all things have to end some time. He just couldn't hack it any more.

Yes, Old......I liked Ted Lilly, too, but at age 37 and with the lingering physical problems, Lilly had to go. The Dodgers can't afford to use a roster spot for a guy who simply can't contribute any longer. I feel bad for guys when they reach the end of the line, but DFA'ing Lilly was overdue.

Now, Ned.......show Marmol the door!! Why did you ever trade for him in the first place? :wtf2:

For the international cap space so we can sign that whiz kid SS that is willing to move to 2B to keep Han Ram happy!! Not sure of the rules on that, but to get that money, I think he needs to stay on the 40 man. Now that does not mean he cant be in Albequerque, but we can't let him go.

Hire Lilly to throw to lefthanders at batting practice, maybe Kemp and Puig can learn to swing at strikes

Ksu........that' right. The Dodgers did get more international cap space, so that was good. Did the Dodgers ever sign that SS whiz kid?

In the meantime.......if the Dodgers have to keep Marmol, send him to High Desert or some place like that.

Dodgers sign Cuban IF Alexander Guerrero for $32 million, per report - True Blue LA

He is signed and will play a few weeks in AA/AAA and will be playing 2B for the Dodgers during the stretch run. Dude is 26 years old, so he has matured some but still is VERY hungry and is 100% willing to make the move to 2B since he sees how well Han Ram is playing now. If he does anything close to what he did in Cuba, he will be an upgrade from Ellis, but then Ellis would be an upgrade from Uribe.... but in the end it gives us some serious flexibility.

So, who gets sent down or DFA'd when Alex Guerrero gets called up? What happens to Mark Ellis? Does he become deadline trade bait? I would be inclined to take a better look at Guerrero next season.

Right Sillas, there shouldn't be any rush with this kid, we are doing just fine with a solid bench and Mark Ellis at 2B right now.

The Dodgers are playing great baseball so don't try to fix something if it's not broke. Go LA.

I am of the same opinion, but apparently Kasten and Magic are very VERY high on this guy. My guess is he would be part of the September roster expansion so nobody would be sent down or DFA'd and whomever is playing better at the time between Ellis and Uribe will get the majority of starts at 3B.
