My main league allows us to keep 1 player drafted in the 5th round or later from the previous season. The catch is, you lose that rounds pick in this draft. Looking at my roster, the only viable option for this would be to keep Brandin Cooks in the 5th.

I'm thinking because this is a PPR 3 WR league, it might be wise to do so as Cooks is typically going in the 4th. Cooks would probably end up as my WR3 at that point making for a loaded group of WRs.

Is reason not to keep Cooks in the 5th? Is it worth gambling hoping that somebody else falls and gives more value? I have the #1 pick so I'd have the 4/5 turn.

Hard to tell without seeing alternative options. I'd prefer to have the 5th and find a sleeper later to keep.

Cooks would be a late 3rd or early 4th in PPR, so no, it's not terrible if he is your only option to keep.

personally I would not keep Cooks in the 5th... Not because he is not decent value there, but he is not a league winner at that spot... and I would rather keep my options up, in case I wanted to draft a TE or a QB at that point...

theres no surprise WR you got in the later rounds, or waivers? no Tyler Boyds, or Locketts, or Godwin's, or DJ Moore's, or Curtis Samuels, or Courtland Sutton's?? Those types of guys, likely picked a little to much later on, would be excellent values.

Cooks in the 5th ain't bad, nothing wrong with that, but, are you sure theres nothing you got late that might be a better return in investment?

The other catch is you had to have drafted the guy. I had Boyd, Moore, and Sutton on my roster but they were all waiver wire pick ups.

Well that sucks balls. Usually leagues like that, when you find the waiver wire gem, you get rewarded by the keeper only costing the final round. Bummer

Keep in mind Kip was injured, and may not be 100% so cook may off a bit more

All 3 Rams WRs were top 30 guys when all were healthy last yr.

Gurley won't be seeing the same workload he saw thru 14wks last yr.

Cooks produces, no matter what team/ offensive philosophy/QB throwing to him.

In a 3WR full PPR, if Cooks in the 5th is your best option, I say take it and run.

So I agree with these guise. I would love to see yer other options though. I play in a league that is similar and I'm keeping either HHenry or Guise in the 19th.

I agree, If I know I have a WR with my 5th rounder...I would try to get 2 RB's in my top 4 picks though, that's the only tweak to my strategy I would personally have...other than that Cooks in the 5th is a great option imo

Cooks is only 25 years old, has blazing speed and has never missed a game in the 4 years that he's become a starter. You could do worse.

How many teams?

And you would use 5.1? Damn that sucks. An even round guy would be best.

14+ teams? Sure. A ten teamer? No.
