lol, after that game last night, I hate to be real but I hope the Royals get at least 2. The interesting one will be seeing Ventura start and how he handles it. For being a players manager, I hope Yost didn't turn him into Ankiel 2.0, cause he won't ever be a hitter.

Josh Hamilton will be a big key. Will he decide to stop being a pile of shit? Would make that lineup even more dangerous.

Duffy and Vargas have to deal with Trout, Pujols, Kendrick and Freese as it is. Having Hamilton as a lefty threat would just make things tougher and help when facing Shields/Ventura.

And then of course if Guthrie for some reason gets a start. The entire Angels lineup will be getting aroused.

No way in hell KC wins this series but I haven't been so "for" a team in the postseason like I am the Royals this year. Also going for the Pirates in the NL.

If you look at Guthrie's lines they are wild, 0 or 1 run given up or lit up like a Christmas tree...all or nothing with that guy

So great to see the fans excited in KC. Couldn't be happier about that. Wish I had been there last night.

I wouldn't count the Royals out - the Angels should win this series but let's see how their rotation fares - there are some questions there and if they don't pitch great, and the Royals get a lead in the 7th or later, it's going to be real tough

I will never see a better game or atmosphere in that stadium, even if they ever had a walk off, 7th game WS win. Thought they were knocked out twice and on the ropes early.

Which all added to the atmosphere no doubt. Purely electric! You weren't there, were you, 55?

I was standing at the rail of the A's bullpen in right field, we looked straight down and saw the A's relievers warming up after the 7th inning, thanks to the buddies 6 yr old getting us front row. I have never hugged so many strangers in my life after that hit.

Wow, so happy for you, man. When I saw Gregerson hang those first two sliders I said "Oh, shit!"

I was at the Lakers game when Horry hit "the shot" so have an idea what it must have been like last night.

Last night was a weird experience as a Cardinals fan. Pretty much everyone I know is in or around Kansas City right now because the job opportunities are so much better out there than in STL so the Royals bandwagon has gotten pretty big over the past couple of months. I figure its all pretty harmless unless the Royals meet the Cardinals in the WS which is amazingly doubtful so I dont mind the renewed interest in baseball. It wouldn't be that bad if it wasn't for the 85 World Series.....yeah, Im rooting for the Angels.

The Angel's rotation scares me plenty, but if the Angels can keep it within a run through six I think the Bull Pen is strong enough to give em a chance with their line-up.

First 6 innings will tell the story most likely for each of these games. Whoever wins the first 6 innings, wins the games. Going to be interesting.

Royals rotation for the first four games is Vargas, Ventura, Shields, and Duffy. Shocked Duffy isn't starting game 2- he has been KC's most effective starter however you spin it.

On another note, game 1 will feature two college teammates:

Apparently, Vargas and Weaver have a vacation planned together during the offseason. Weaver said they are best friends. Game 1 should be a thrill for those two. Someone will have bragging rights on their vacation.

Both teams have solid bullpens. The Angel's starters scare me as well. Other than Weaver, I don't have much confidence in the others. Wilson is about as hot and cold as one can get. Shoemaker has been awesome, but a big question mark coming back from his injury. Bullpen game for game 4? :noidea:

I was hoping they could get by with 3 starting pitchers, how many days between Game 1 and game 4?

I was hoping they could get by with 3 starting pitchers, how many days between Game 1 and game 4?

Game 1: Thursday, Oct. 2, 6:07 p.m. at Angel Stadium, TBS
Game 2: Friday, Oct. 3, 6:37 p.m. at Angel Stadium, TBS
Game 3: Sunday, Oct. 5, 4:37 p.m. at Kauffman Stadium, TBS
Game 4*: Monday, Oct. 6, TBD at Kauffman Stadium, TBS
Game 5*: Wednesday, Oct. 8, TBD at Angel Stadium, TBS

You could in theory have 3 starters if the game 1 starter pitches game 4 on three days rest (obviously not desirable)...game 2's starter would be on full rest for game 5.
