I'm in the trophy hunting group myself... i dont like field dressing.... I dont like butchering...... I do like wall mounts.... plus shooting a dominate male does more to thin out the population that 2 does..... the reason for two doe tags and not two buck tags is the fact that most people think they are shooting a monster when they are not- everything looks bigger in the scope... I have bought a tag every year for ten years... I've shot three bucks in that time... all scored over 20...

ive never hunted out of state, i stay south of I-80 and east of hwy 81 so idk what it cost for out of state up there, but i agree with you hawkeye hater, i love shooting the big buck, but i disagee in the facty that i do my own field dressing and then i skin them, butcher em, and grind the meat myself and enjoy this process, i save money when all i have to do is send in ground meat to get processed.

I've got plenty of 4 x 5, 5 x 5 antlers around. Some I've shot, some are sheds found during morel season. Anything at or under that I'd rather just take doe's and I do..
I used to field dress and have a buddy who used to be a butcher for Hi Vee so he would come over and butcher it for me. Another friend of mine gave me a roll of Jalapeno and Cheese Summer Sausage from Van Fleet's in Ralston and I was hooked. I now have them processed through them. I keep the loins for chislic's during morel season, have some of it turned into deer sticks and jerkey for fishing trips, and the rest made into summer sausage for gifts, partys, etc..
If I could learn how to make that Jalepeno/Cheese summer sausage myself I'd do it but I've never been able to duplicate it quite as good..Some things you just gotta pay for.

I got a picture of the little deer i shot..... I keep forgeting to post them when i get on the computer- havent figured out how to post it from my phone... My other two are at my dads next to my elk... The mule/whitetale hybrid almost looks like an elk haha.

I do my own field dressing and butchering..... I just hate doing it which is why I dont get doe tags....haha or shoot a buck I havent scouted for a year or two... The one I'll post a pic of later eluded me for two years...

Ha........ I hunted that deer for 3 years......

ended up buyinga a artic sleeping bag and sleeping under a pine tree to shoot him because he was a tricky fella, anytime I'd seen him in the past was either out of season or 400 yards away at dusk standing on top of a ridge...
