Here's how much Gordon's Patriots Super Bowl ring sold for in auction

Josh Gordon's Super Bowl LIII championship ring has a new owner.J

The veteran wide receiver won the ring as a member of the New England Patriots during the 2018 NFL season.

Gordon was acquired by the Patriots in a trade with the Cleveland Browns in September of 2018. He played in 11 games for New England before being suspended by the NFL in December of that year for violating the terms of his reinstatement.

Even though Gordon didn't play for the Patriots after Week 15 of the regular season, the Patriots still gave him a ring after they beat the Los Angeles Rams 13-3 in Super Bowl LIII.

That ring sold for $138,000 last week at Heritage Auctions, according to Sports Collectors Daily.

Gordon was ultimately reinstated by the league and played six games for the Patriots in 2019 before being waived. The Seattle Seahawks signed him in November of last season and he played five games for the NFC West franchise. He was suspended by the league again in December.

Well if it had no meaning for him or if he has embittered feelings towards the Patriots organization, I get why he would sell it. Especially if he needs some cash.

I personally, would never sell, the potentially, only Superbowl ring I may get in life.

When I was 13 my parents bought an old farmhouse in Vermont. While moving in I found the inaugural edition of Playboy in the attic.
In Pristine condition.
I had no idea.
I tore out the Marilyn Monroe Centerfold and hung it in my closet.
Then my mother found it and tore down the centerfold and threw it and the rest of the magazine away.

How much would that be worth today...?

I've got some classics like Bart Starr & sech... Lots of 80's - 00's NBA, NFL, MLB cards. I used to own a subscription to Beckett's where you could look up the values. But that pales in comparison to what they go for at auction. I don't even know how you get something like that assessed to deem any worth?

I'd have no problem selling it if I didn't have tons of money. Josh has a net worth of $3 million, but I bet with debt and lifestyle choices he really has much less than that available.

Some cards have exploded in value lately. However, if you want to sell anything, it needs to be professionally graded.

I cannot bring up the link at work, but ebaumsworld puts the value between $20k and $40k

That one on ebay is a 2007 licensed reproduction.
The one I found was a 25 year old original in 1978.
