He's just gonna sit on the bench in Seattle... He can possibly be an ok back-up ... If he doesn't get a grip on his personal life though it's not gonna matter where he goes... I kinda figured Dallas might go after him...

I thought the Browns had to wait till after June or something? Otherwise it will be a huge cap hit?

Or am I confusing it with DeMarco Murray?

NFL official 2016 fiscal yr starts in MAR...in terms dealing with players under contract that may be a factor...there is a Jun designation that saves cap space, but not sure how it works.

I only mentioned it because it sounded in the first post of this thread that Cleveland was cutting him very soon.

I heard two target times, post Super Bowl and June. With June being the best time to save a hit.

His "dad" is concerned? Lol, his parents should have been a bit more concerned with teaching johnny to be a man when he was growing up instead of turning him into a spoiled little punk ass brat.

The Seahawks like to take on reclamation projects who had problems with other coaches. They don't take on off the field headcases.

They already made Longest Yard 2, it starred Adam Sandler and a whole bunch of ex football players and wrestlers.

His agent cut ties with him, and the Brown's will be releasing him any minute now. His father evidently said that he worries Manziel will be dead before he hits 24.

I was listening to our local radio guys on the way in to work today, and they brought up Johnny Football coming here, and how it would benefit him to form a relationship with Pete Carroll.

I think it's at least interesting to think about.
Any place but Dallas is interesting for me to talk about...

There is only one owner stupid enough to take on Manziel and that's Jerry Jones.

lol, that's what I was thinking ... Jerry does take more chances than most... Jerry was actually regretting not picking him up in the draft... Manziel has talent, but he's looking more and more like a head case...

That's the big problem with him right now. He's immature like many young 20s, but he also apparently has no desire to improve...and that is a big problem in any profession.

It's a perfect fit for Jerry Jones:gaah:

Can't see any team interested in this clown. He thinks he is above the team and the strict rules that need to followed by players. Feel for the Browns to have drafted such an idiot. As some have said, maybe a long re-hab period and settling for a back-up job could be a solution but I doubt it. The disrespect he has shown to organizarional structure makes him a basket case. Sure he's young, but he's also a jackass.

Dude, they are going to drop him on Day 1, March 9.

Manziel’s contract will make the process a little more complicated. He signed a four-year, $8.2 million deal after Cleveland took him with the 21st overall pick in 2013, according to Spotrac. Almost all of that contract was guaranteed ($7.9 million of it, to be exact) and halfway through the deal, the Browns still owe Manziel more than $4 million in guarantees in addition to his $4.8 million base salary over the next two years combined.

By parting ways with the 23-year-old, the team would save the $4.8 million base salary without a penalty but would have to pay Manziel his guarantees in one lump sum, which would count against the team’s cap in 2016 as dead money.

The most financially-efficient solution would be to wait until June 1 to release Manziel, which would allow the Browns to spread that dead money over two years. In that scenario, Cleveland would have to pay Manziel the $2 million in guarantees he’s set to earn next season but save the $2 million he’ll make in base salary. So, essentially, the Browns would break even.

That sets up an awkward four-month waiting period with Manziel on the roster but obviously not a part of the team’s plans for the future.

The league does allow teams to designate two “June 1” cuts well before that day on the calendar, but that would limit the amount of money Cleveland could save by using that designation on more expensive veterans, such as Paul Kruger and Donte Whitner.

Either way, the Browns and Manziel will have to wait until March 9, when the new league year officially begins, to part ways.

It's not like all this drinking and partying shit is new. That was his reputation in Texas. The Browns are fucking stupid.
